Bet Me

Here it is lovely readers, a book worth staying up until 5 am to finish. It may have made my 9 am wake-up call seem unbearable, but it was soo good. Check out "Bet Me" by Jennifer Crusie. I stumbled upon this book through the Borders app on my phone. It was the first book that I read solely on my iPhone. The small screen and needing to turn the page every couple of seconds was annoying, but the plot was so intriguing that I had to keep going.

What is it?
Minerva Dobbs is cursed with not only an awful name, but a family that mistreats and berates her. They claim to do it out of love, and to encourage her to lose some weight.
Cal Morrisey is a good looking man who likes a good bet. He just doesn't know that this bet is about to change his life.
Both characters are have settled into how they live their lives and deal with their families, but both are about to have things turned around. And of course there is a wedding, but relax it's with Min's sister.

What's good?
I love that they take a fresh twist on a cool guy betting another cool guy to take out a loser girl... that is so unrealistic and silly, and we all know how it will end...

There is also a fresh twist on the "oh we're dating, so now our conveniently single friends should start dating too." Also, an unrealistic classic romantic comedy situation.

Min is a very relatable main character, it is easy to feel her emotions. Plus, you get the story from Cal's perspective as well. It adds extra steam to the already hot story hearing his POV.

There is a very interesting subplot between Min's and Cal's exes.

Hot and sexy love scenes, and some involve Krispy Kremes. Yum!!

But, my favorite thing about this book is that there is a recap of what happens to all the characters in the end. You get to savor a bit more of happy times with the characters whom you've grown to love.

Enjoy!!!
